Futurology was born from all my passions. My love of old things, color, interior design, paper, organization and customized things all come together in this lifestyle brand. As a creative who has applied my talents in many industries, one thing I have discovered along the way is the power of color in any application. Whether it be in your home or business, color is so important. More importantly, it is very personal. In my experiences people do not realize how connected they are to colors or how they are influenced by color.
Usually, when I talk about color to people a blank look will come over them. It is as if they are frozen, petrified even. It is this fear that people have of color that has inspired a division of Futurology dedicated to personalized color and how to get it. In my free Mistakes with Color ebook, you can begin to understand how to avoid common mistakes people make when choosing color. Be sure to grab your copy!
Over the years, I have developed a way to help people find their color story. Here is a color story I did called, “Rusted Beauty”. I have a passion for old rusted things - in case you haven’t figured that out yet. This is a gorgeous old rusted truck with the most amazing color palette all ready for you to use. The key is figuring out what colors to use and getting the shades and hues correct. Granted my expertise and years of experience give me an unfair advantage but never fear, I created this story for you (check out my Personalized Color Service to get your own color story).
Here’s how this breaks down. If you focus on the things you love, everything will work together. We tend to gravitate to a similar palette already. People tend to get caught up in worrying about the “right” color. In Rusted Beauty” the color story fits my personal style all by itself. It is part of why I am drawn to it. It inspired several other things too! Like this piece of art, I created with my fingers. No brushes were used. It is the focal point of my dinning room.
